ACV Scam or are people idiots. Huh...

OK So first off let me just state that my faith in humanity is beyond dwindling.  Why you may ask?  Well Lets take a short recap.  People seem to love hand outs so much they are willing to give up freedoms that were set into place to keep us a free people.  A 16 year old girl is raped but because it was by two boys who had a great academic record and are high school football stars, they are the victims not her.  These are just a few.  So when I received something in the mail from a ACV Travel company I had little faith.  However since my husband is the one who opened it we read it then we called and talked to the guy.  It sounded pretty legit.  Most of the time it doesn't but this one did.  Then our friend looked it up and said scam so I looked it up.  Well yes and no and here is where I say people are idiots (not our friend).

Part of this is solely a "scam".  If you received something that says you've won a free trip to Vegas or Orlando its the "scam" part.  Now from some of what I have read it would appear as if some people really thought that this "boarding pass" was a legit ticket (despite it clearing saying this is not a real boarding pass) and attempted to go somewhere.  In reality what this is, is to get you to come and sit through a 90 minute meeting about timeshares.  It states on the back this is to get you to buy timeshares making this no longer a scam.  The fine print litterally tells you this is for timeshares and even says its for people between a certain age and who make a certain amount of money so for those of you who are bitching about this shut up and read.  This is not a "scam".  There is no such thing as a "scam".  Why?  Because a "scam" tells you its a "scam" in the fine print.  It has to otherwise they cant make an air tight contract that even the best lawyer cant get you out of.  Lets take a page out the book of Family Guy.  Peter is "scamed" into buying volcano insuarance and uses Lois's raining day fund to buy it.  In the contract it states over and over again "I can't believe he is signing it".  This scam informed Peter it was a scam and yet just like most "American's" it sounded good when someone sold it to him so he took it.  Now in this case a lawyer was able to get him out of it.  Either way the point to that was a scam is not a scam when its stated in the fine print.

Now there is another type of "boarding pass" you can get in the mail as well.  This one is only given out to I think 10 people to the hotel area.  It might be more than that but I cant remember everything people.  Anyways you go to the hotel take a two hour tour (one hour if you have little ones) and I am sure this is also about timeshares.  Again on the back it states this is to promote timeshare buying.  It also states the odds of you winning the three cars, or the 49,000 or the 1500 shopping spree, or the 800$ four day trip, or the 500 dollars.  Surprisingly your odds of winning the trip or 500 is pretty close to the same.  The others of course are a 1 in 53,000 chance.  It also tells you how long they will continue to send these things out.  Now if you have the money to pay for a few things that arent covered in the trip then its worth it or maybe even worth it to just take the money.  BUT here is another fine print that someone would probably flip shit about.  You are now (in a sense) their bitch boy.  You will have to take photos when you win and then will have to take photos whenever they call upon you to help promote them and you will NOT be paid.  I personally dont see that as a big flaw, they just gave you something I am sure you can get over it.  Either way its actually not that bad.  I did see some negative reviews about them in general so thats something to consider.  We have decided not to do it.  Its only a 3 hour drive for us and honestly I think we were most excited about getting out of town for a day staying overnight in a hotel with a pool and letting the girls swim and play then our 1 in 53,000 chance of hitting it big.  Though the trip would be nice its not really in the cards for us right now since we are getting close to being done with the Army.  Yes the 500 or 800 dollars would be nice, but again not really something we are interested in.  However if you are close enough that this wont inconvenience you do it.  If you are worried and unsure, have someone else READ THE FINE PRINT  to you.  Get advice, you never know you could be that 1in 53,000.

Gym's House.

So a few days ago my husband started to go to the gym again (or Gym's house as my 2 year old calls it).  After having his ankle surgery over a year ago he managed to pack on a few pounds and if he is going to try and become a police officer after we finally as good bye to the Army then he needs to start getting back into shape.  I for some time have been wanting to start working out again.  My attempts at it a few months back were starting to show results until I about passed out.  Turns out breast feeding while working out dont mix well with me.  I dont eat enough to support both and myself.  Now that L is almost completely weaned (down to only one night time feeding and a lazy 730 am feeding) I can finally start to work out.  So Friday after dinner the husband and I loaded up our two little ninjasd an head off to Gym's House.  We went to our community center which has a small little workout room and a nice big glass window looking into a playroom which is were we dropped the girls at.  I was surprised at how content they stayed.  The husband and I did a pretty good little workout and the next day did the same.  We were suppose to take today off (Sunday) but I decided to go and do it again on my own.  I have found that I actually like working out.  Its fun for me.  I feel like I am doing something other than just sitting at home with the girls cooking and cleaning.  I am hoping to drop a few pounds in the next two weeks so I can start Jillian Michaels back up.  Another issue I had with doing her workout was knees.  I think I just have too much weight on my body and all the jumping was killing me.  I will say this though.  I did her 30 day shred for a week and a half before I had to stop and in that week and a half I lost enough weight to put on a pair of jean capris I have not been able to wear since before I got pregnant with L.  Of course a few weeks later I was back to not being able to fit into them.  Anyways her workout works and I for sure want to do it again as well as continue to go to the gym.
